Street Monitors

man_bubbles!.jpgThis is the most important volunteer position! To keep the street open, we need to keep cars off the street and help pedestrians and cyclists move safely through the busy street. Volunteers are needed at intersections to set up the barricades (first shift only); take down the barricades (last shift only), and make sure no cars turn onto the street during the event (ALL Shifts). All street monitors will receive  sidewalk chalk, hula hoops, bubbles, jump rope or another fun activity for their station. Street Monitors help engage guests by adding creative drawings or facilitating a game at their intersection and asking event-goers to help out! Some street monitors may also be responsible for taking tallies of bikes and pedestrians they see for 15 minutes two times during their shift. Great for families volunteering together.
