Volunteer with us at Open Streets!

Help make Minneapolis streets into places for people!

Each year, communities across the city gather to experience a day on their street without cars. By volunteering at an Open Streets Minneapolis event, you can help us create a welcoming and engaging environment for visitors, organizations, and businesses across the city. With a variety of opportunities, this is a great way to learn about the work that Our Streets does and share our mission with others.

  • Set Up Crew / Break Down Crew: hour-long, active positions that helps us close down and reopen the street before or after the event

  • Street Ambassador: volunteer host on the route helping keep the street welcoming, clean, and exciting in three-hour shifts. Tasks include handing out maps, answering visitor questions, clearing any trash on the street, engaging with people on the route, and taking attendance.

  • Planeteer: Help us leave the route looking cleaner than how we found it! Recycle, compost, and dispose of trash until your heart's content while enjoying the event.

If you previously signed up for a role that we are no longer offering and want to know how you can get involved, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, who can guide you to a role that fits your interest and ability.
